At Today’s Therapy Services, we provide a range of services to meet your child’s needs. Our services include home based and clinic based. Home based services are for families in the OKC Metro area who feel their child would best be served in their home/day care environment. Some families prefer bringing their child to us in the clinic setting. For those families, we have a clinic in North Oklahoma City. Our goal is to help your child reach their maximum potential. If you are unsure about which service would be best for your child, please contact our office at (405) 286-3749 and we can have you visit with a therapist.
Feeding Clinic
The Today’s Therapy Solutions SOS Feeding Clinic offers services focusing on challenges with feeding. Feeding Clinic therapists are trained in the SOS (Sequential Oral Sensory) Approach, which is an evidence based approach to increase the range of foods in a child’s diets, as well as improving oral motor skills. The SOS approach to feeding is family-centered, multi-disciplinary, and low stress/child directed.
Some signs of feeding problems could include refusal to eat, gagging/choking, a limited variety of food groups & food textures, difficulty chewing, poor saliva management, poor weight gain, extreme “pickiness”, failure to thrive, and tube feeding dependence. Feeding services include evaluations, consultation, and direct services, offered individually or in small groups, at our clinic and in the home environment.
Occupational Therapy
Occupational therapy comes from the term “occupation.” The goal of occupational therapy is to help people become more successful in their daily occupations. Children’s occupations may include: playing, learning, self-care (i.e. eating, toileting, brushing teeth, getting dressed), socializing with other children, and interacting with the community (i.e. going to the park, going to birthday parties).
The occupational therapists at Today’s Therapy Solutions specialize in helping children succeed in their occupations. We do this through a variety of approaches which might include: using visual supports, using positive reinforcement, breaking down task into small steps, or sensory supports. We believe in taking an eclectic approach to helping children and their families. Our goal is to help children and families feel successful in all they do!
Speech Therapy
Typically when people think of speech-language therapy they think of difficulty producing speech sounds or possibly stuttering. While those are some of the difficulties a speech-language pathologist may address, speech-language therapy is much more than that. Speech-language therapy can be better understood if thought of as communication therapy.
Therapists at Today’s Therapy Solutions are trained in a variety of functional communication [i.e. verbal, Picture Exchange Communication System (PECS), Augmentative and Alternative Communication (AAC)], apraxia, social skills as well as more traditional methods of intervention like articulation, receptive and expressive language, and fluency.
